On 8 th March 2017, the world celebrated International Women’s day and at CFSK Institute of
ICT, we ushered the day in style. A Wednesday sunny morning begun with women donned in
beautiful African dresses strolling into the compound with smiles filled with hope and inspiration
coming from their faces. It was evident to everyone in the neighborhood that a great occasion
On this day, the women were holding a graduation ceremony while celebrating the successful
completion of their course work. Women leaders from the community, the area member of
county assembly (MCA), and various stakeholders from organizations that support women
projects were in attendance to witness this noble initiative.
The 2017 theme for International Women’s day was #BeBoldforchange and it resonated very
well with CFSK Institute of ICT desire to effect change to the lives of its community members.
Through its sponsorship program, it has trained close to 120 women in ICT literacy and
entrepreneurship. Here, they are trained on basic computer literacy, entrepreneurship and
Majority of the women we take up to train are either small scale traders, single mothers or stay at
home mums who are disadvantaged and would largely benefit from the program by assisting
them achieve economic independence. Each class is expected to put up a business proposal that
will see the creation of a product for sale that could assist in generating income.
Women are a great resource and CFSK Institute of ICT is on the fore front in championing for
women empowerment through the use of ICT.
